"Tell us about the project. We listen before we draw."
Working since 2018
We have been designing homes and quiet rooms since 2018. Our work begins with measurement: of the land, of the light, and of the way our clients move through their day. From that material we develop a single rule that holds the whole.

Alternative development plan for Campus Oriente, Pontifical Catholic University of Chile: heritage conservation, parametric design and BIM.
Case study →Every project led personally by Joris, with a small ring of trusted engineers, makers and a model-builder.
Private houses, pavilions and small cultural buildings, from feasibility through to detail design.

Sensitive interventions in historic fabric, with conservators and craftspeople.

2–4 weeksA computational model is built: not the design itself, but the rule that generates many designs.
4–8 weeksDrawings, mock-ups at 1:1, material selection, and permits. Where choices become tangible.
3–4 monthsWeekly site supervision. We ensure the parametric logic survives the site, and hand over a documented building.
6–14 monthsPassive House is the world's most rigorous energy-efficiency standard. A house built to it is warmer, quieter, healthier, and uses a fraction of the energy to heat and cool.
It's not a feature we sell. It's how we build, on every project.

Studio Joris is led by Joris Katkevicius, who founded the practice in 2018 after training in computational design at ETH Zürich and traditional masonry on the Iberian coast.
Every project is led by Joris, from first sketch to last detail.

They listened for months before they drew. The house surprised us, then felt inevitable, as if it had always been waiting in the dunes.
Joris turned a brief about acoustics into a building that sings on the eye before a single note is played. Calm, rigorous, quietly precise.
The light in my studio is now a collaborator. Every hour brings a different room. I have never worked anywhere this honest.
